No one yet had the initiative to publish or compile a comprehensive collection of GAY WORDS and their meanings (related meanings) or how they originated. According to some studies GAY WORDS/LINGO are already in existence since the 60s in the form of “SWARDSPEAK”. Many have attempted to study the origin of the sub-language and why they were conceived and according to Pontenilla, with his study of the ethnography of the gays in Dumaguete City, the “bayotspeak” is more of like a “secret code”, which the gays use to talk amongst themselves so that other people who are not gay will not be able to understand what they’re talking about. (I guess, this proves to be true when we experience being with a gay friend riding in a jeep or bus and then spotted a cute guy).

Anyway, in the present, the GAY LINGO is popularly used not only by gays and also by heterosexuals as well, which only strengthens the assimilation and influence of gays in Pinoy pop culture.

To be honest, there is actually no specific formula to invent or to make up a GAY WORD. The most important about this is the delivery and expression (feminization of speech), that is why GAY LINGO is far off better SAID that WRITTEN. At the same time, GAY LINGO is so fluid and dynamic, one word can function as an adjective, noun or verb all at the same time. Main reason why linguists, who would dare to write a constructive study about this would eventually end-up in a hairsplitting moment because GAY LINGO is not fundamentally and constructively based on the framework of neither the ENGLISH nor the FILIPINO language.

So, in the effort of spreading the GAY LINGO and unifying GAYS (and heterosexuals as well) BADING.COM brings you BADINGTIONARY “The first and only comprehensenive collection of GAY LINGO in the entiiiiiiire universe”.

We also encourage you! Yes you!!!! To join us in this effort . . . .  send your contributions to This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .

So that we can all live a happier and GAYER life!!!!
