Let’s face it. Times have changed…a lot. What we’ve been taught to know about love and relationships and dating and sex have been turned topsy turvy by the passing of the seasons. This is especially true with gay community. As new venues for meeting guys spring up everywhere, decorum and proper conduct have changed their laws as well. What works for cyberspace doesn’t necessarily work in LGBT-friendly bars, for instance. What works in steam rooms inversely might also work in some forms of public transport. It can be a real funhouse out there. Sorta scary at times but nothing beats the old adrenalin rush of meeting someone new. You just have to know what works where for the here and now. This little column aims to help out in those respects, because we have to admit we all need a little impartiality, a slap on the face, a cold splash of water to wake us up to the harsher realities of gay life because admit it or not, being gay in the Philippines may be fun, but sister, it ain’t no walk in the park either. Believe me. I know. Been there, done that. Take it from someone who’s been in both sides of the fence. I’ve been loser and winner, sinner and saint, victim and victimizer so many times its like a rollercoaster ride that just goes goes to the climax, relaxes then starts back up again. It gets exhausting most times, but then again what choice do we all have but to pick ourselves back up and start all over again. Quitting is for quitters and quitters never win.
