My friends and i had a very bad experience in SandBar Resort near Puerto Galera last Sunday, April 26, 2009.
We were availing of an island-hopping/snorkling adventure in the island.
The bangkero took us to the said resort and hotel as one of the island hopping destinations.
We were laughing around and joking among ourselves, private jokes not intended to harm nor offend anybody.
Until, surprisingly, a man who introduced himself as the owner, said, "pinapayagan ko kayo mag swimming sa resort ko pero wag kayo bastos!".
Naturally, since i was the one who cracked the joke to my friends, i immediately asked for an apology and raised my right hand with the peace sign. Realizing that the island has a chapel and it is a private resort. I apologized again and we decided to leave the place quickly. The man who introduced himself as the owner continuously cursed us and got even angrier.
After the apologies and the diplomatic conversation initiated by us, the man/owner blurted out, "di pwede mga bakla dito, dun kayo sa lugar ng mga bakla!".
We left the place humiliated and we felt so discriminated.
